David Clay Fulmer, 83, of Chattanooga, TN died on February 1, 2011.

He was born August 7, 1927, the son of the late Dr. Joseph C. Fulmer Sr. and Alma Linck Fulmer. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph C. Jr., and Frank Daniel Fulmer.

He served in the U. S. Army and graduated from Albright College. He retired from TVA and was an active member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church.

David was active in a local hiking club and had hiked a large portion of the Appalachian Trail. He also competed in the Senior Olympics, winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. He volunteered for "Meals on Wheels," and other charitable groups.

He was fluent in Russian and spoke French and Spanish. He was known as a charitable, gentle, and compassionate individual and was an inspiration to all who knew him.

He is survived by his nieces, Susan M. Bloom, (William Jr.,) and Deborah J. Peterson, (Scott); sister–in-law, Carole Fulmer, all of Williamsport, PA; and numerous grand and great-grandnephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in the Kate Lyle West Chapel of First-Centenary Untied Methodist Church with Dr. David Harr officiating.

Interment in Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport, PA, will take place at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 1–2 p.m. at the church prior to the service on Wednesday.
