He was born June 30, 1971 in Peoria, the son of John T. Jr. and Martha Catherine Gross Spence. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
He married Sue Schulte. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, Morton; stepchildren, Kari Graham, Bloomington, and Joseph Graham, Colfax; siblings, Joyce (Larry) Wilson, Princeton, Texas; Susette (James) Cochran, Morton; Denise (Johnsie) Coone, Deer Creek; Mayron (Paul) Boyer, Mascoutah and Tina (Dale) Gleason, Bartonville.
