Major League Baseball Player. For six seasons (1960 to 1963, 1965 to 1966), he was a pitcher with the Milwaukee Braves, California Angels and St. Louis Cardinals. Born Ronald Jacques Piche, he was signed as an amateur free agent by the Braves in 1955 and marked his Major League with them debut on May 30th, 1960; he recorded 9 saves with a 3.56 ERA in 37 games pitched that season. Piche would secure a place within Milwaukee's bullpen during the next four seasons producing an ERA of below 4.00 twice (1961 with 3.47 and 1963 with 3.40). In 134 career games, he compiled a 10 win 16 loss record with a lifetime 4.19 ERA, in 221 innings pitched. Following his playing career he served as scouting director with the Montreal Expos, and would return to the field in 1976 for a stint as a coach with Montreal. He was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988. He died after a lengthy battle with cancer.
