FOND DU LAC, DEC 10-(SPECIAL) Frederick Howard Scribner, 94, past president of the Wisconsin Dairymaen's Association, life member of the Jersey Cattle Club and nationally known breeder of fine Jersey cattle, died last night at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert McClain, Town of Byron.
He was born in the Town of Springvale and after his marriage in 1878 settled in a homestead just west of Rosendale.
Mr. Scribner became nationally known in farmer's institute work, judging cattle at many state and national shows. He was a member of the Rosendale Congregational Church and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was honored with a scroll from the University of Wisconsin for pioneer work in dairying.
After retiring from farm work he went to California where he managed a large dairy estate near Santee. He later returned to Rosendale because of ill health.
He is survived by Mrs. McClain, two sons, Roy, Town of Rosendale, and Herbert. Services will be Friday in Rosendale Congregational with burial in the village cemetery.

Veteran Cattle Judge Is Dead
Fond du Lac-(AP) Frederick H. Scribner, widely know Jersey cattle judge, died Tuesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert McClain, in the town of Byron. He was 94.
Scribner was a past president of the Wisconsin Dairymen's Association and had held office in the American Jersey Cattle Club. In 1933 he was presented with a scroll by the University of Wisconsin for his work in the state's dairy industry.
Funeral services will be Friday at Rosendale.
