Frederick E. Wentz, Sr., 76, 0f Emmaus, died June 20. 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Mae I. (Nester) Wentz. They were married 53 years June 16. Born in Emmaus, he was a son of the late Paul I. Sr.amd Bertha (Brensinger) Wentz. He co-owned and operated Service Supply Company, Allentown, was the founder and owner of Mil-Fred Bowling Lanes, Emmaus, and most recently, worked for Weinstein Supply Company. He was a member of Upper Milford Mennonite Church, Zionsville. He was a past memeber of the Emmaus Lion's Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors: wife; son, Frederick E., "Rick" Jr and his wife, Kristen (Koch) Wentz; daughters, Carolyn "Cookie", wife of Franklin Tranguch, Kathleen, wife of James Fox, Jr., Sandra, wife of Merwyn "Merf" David, all of Emmaus; sisters, Anna Mae Knauss of Emmaus, Dorothea Yeager of Coopersburg; grandchildren, Vincent and his wife, Kelsey Tranguch, Emily and Joseph Fox, Elizabeth and her husband, al Ledford, Alexander, Kathleen and Anne David and Richard Wentz.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Upper Milford Mennonite church, 6450 Kings Highway, south, Zionsville. Call 7-8:30 p.m.Thursday , Horace W. Schantz Funeral Home inc., 250 Masin street, Emmaus, and 10-11 a.m. Friday in the church. Internment, Upper Milford Mennonite Cemetery.
