Mr. Jerry Jones, age 50, died Saturday, October 28, 2006, at his residence. He was a native of Bulloch County and a member of the Hutchinson Longstreet Baptist Church. he was a 1974 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School, a deacon of Hutchinson Longstreet Baptist Church and served as church clerk for several years. Jerry was a former member of the Brooklet Male Chorus and a former truck operator of Sheppard Lumber Co.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory a wife, Belinda Jones of Brooklet; daughter, Latoya Denise Jones (Raymond), Statesboro; son, Jeremy Michael (Keisha) Jones of Statesboro; one grandson, Emery Michael Tuff of Statesboro; mother, Arthur Mae Jones, Brooklet; six brothers, Robert (Daisy) Jones, Jacksonville, Fla., Roy (Betty) Jones, Hinesville, Russell (Jennie) Jones of Denver, Colo., Charles (Ruth) Jones, Patterson, N.J., Johnny Roy (Veronica) Jones, Statesboro, Edward Lee (Mary) Jones, Swainsboro; two sisters, Elizabeth "Sue" Jones Collins (Frank), Mary Lee Jones (Calvin) Atkins, Brooklet; sister-in-law, Lonnie Simmons; two brothers-in-law, Alonzo Simmons, Arizona, Randy Jones, Brooklet; father-in-law, Lonzie Simmons; mother-in-law, Lovie Bell Simmons, Brooklet; three aunts, Geneva Yopp, Detroit, Mich., Doris Trupp, Sarasota, Fla., Essie Mae Jones, Savannah; one uncle, Leroy "Buddy" (Nina) Josey, Dublin, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Jerry Jones will be held at noon Saturday at Hutchinson Longstreet Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Kelly officiating. Burial: Cone Cemetery.
