Wilda L. Eldred, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. Wilda, or "Willie" as she was known to many friends, was born on Dec. 23, 1928, in Neosho, Mo., to Floyd and Ona Winchester. The family later moved to Sulphur Springs, Ariz., where she graduated from high school. She married James "Jim" Eldred in Arkansas in 1947. The couple moved to Nyssa, Ore., in 1953, and then to Ontario in 1963. They had three children. Wilda was an avid and accomplished bowler for many years. She was also a volunteer at Holy Rosary Medical Center in Ontario. She was very dedicated and proud of her volunteer work and enjoyed the many friends she made at Holy Rosary Medical Center. Wilda is survived by her three children, J.L. (Carol) Eldred, of Nyssa, Floyd (Jacque) Eldred, of Meridian, Idaho and Marge (Wayne) York, of Pendleton, Ore.; grandchildren, J.J. Eldred, of Nyssa, Ore., Ty Eldred, of Kuna, Idaho, Rebecca Eldred, Nampa, Idaho, Cheryl Flannery, Fruitland, Idaho and Chris York, of Canby, Ore.; brothers, Dean Winchester, of Irrigon, Ore. and Virgil Winchester, Anderson, Mo.; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and two sisters. Services will be held on Friday, Aug.27 at 11 a.m. at Lienkaemper Chapel, 78 N.W. First Ave., Ontario, Ore.
