William Van Weelden, son of Jan and Dirkjie Vander Meyden Van Weelden, was born in the Netherlands on October 11, 1885 and passed away July 20, 1977 at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 9 days.
He came to America in 1906. He was united in marriage to Jennie Bouma on Nov. 12, 1913 here in Oskaloosa.
He is survived by his wife Jennie, 8 sons, 4 daughters, 52 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and one sister.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, and an infant son, and three grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for the Pella Christian Opportunity Center in his memory.
