Bertha L. Atkinson (nee Bailey), 52, of Lorain died Monday in the Cricital Care Unit of St. Joseph Hospital & Health Center after a short illness.
Born in Phenix City, Ala., she lived in Lorain 29 yaers.
Mrs. Atkinson was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Lorain and worked at the Crystal Clear Dry Cleaners at 26th Street and Broadway in Lorain for many years.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Harry K; son Donald of San Diego, Aaron of Lorain, Lawrence of New Jersey, and Oscar and Marvin, both at home; four randchildren; her mother, Sophie Thomas oF columbus, Ga.; sisters Catherine Alexander, Patricia Thomas and Sharon Thomas, all of COlumbus, ga.; brothers Wilson Bailey of Germany, Arthur Bailey of Columbus, Ga., Eddie Thomas of California and Joe Thomas of Spain; an uncle; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Bailey, and a brother.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Brown Funeral Home at 27th Street and Broadway, Lorain. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Lorain, with the Rev. Mark E. Sadler, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
