SALEM - Maybell V. (Cerine) Brown was born in Logsden, Oregon 6/06/22. She passed away on February, 2, 2011, in Eugene, OR. of an age related causes.

May was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She was a business woman who worked hard all of her life. In 1958 she passed the State Board of Cosmetology in California. Soon thereafter she moved to Oregon, where she worked as the office manager for NW Natural Gas and then retired from Les Schwab's Main Office, Prineville, OR in 1987. In retirement she took up golf and enjoyed walking. She was also active in her church, Queen of Peace in Salem, Or.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Cerine (Enrico Cerini) & Olga Cerine who immigrated to the US from Giumaglio, Switzerland in 1899 & 1906 respectively. Her sister Henrietta Swearingen also preceded her in death. After graduating from Siletz High School in 1940, May moved to San Francisco from her home in Logsden, Or. to live with the Bertelli family. In San Francisco she met her loving and caring husband of 67 years, Douglas H. Brown. They married in San Francisco during World War II. Following the war they moved to Prineville, Oregon. They have also lived in Salem and Eugene among other places.

May is survived by her husband, Douglas, her sister Alice Cerine, and two children, Ron Brown, his spouse Nancy, and Connie (Brown) Smart, and her spouse Joe. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, David Brown (wife Annette), Eric Rouse (wife RoVawn) and Megan Brown. May is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, Steffen Brown, Jeremy Brown, Austin Brown, Logan Rouse, Audrey Rouse, Danielle Brown & Dylan Brown. Lastly, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Bertelli, Swearingen, Kratz, Brown, Pandiani families, and other relatives to numerous to mention. May was a wonderful and nourishing mother who would rather give to her two children and her family than to herself. We will miss her loving hugs, kisses, encouragement, and guidance.

A service will be held at V.T. Golden Funeral Home, Salem, Or on 2/7/11 at 10 a.m. Followed by interment at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR. at 12:30 p.m. Contributions may be given in her name to Sacred Heart Hospice in Eugene or a charity of your choice.
