MRS. JACOB SIMON, IS DEAD AT ROANOKE
Mrs. Jacob Simon, sixty-five years old, died at 6:50 o'clock Friday morning at her home in Roanoke, following an illness of several weeks of complications. She was born Nov. 14, 1858, in Lafayette township, Allen county. She was the daughter of James and Nancy Chaney.

Surviving relatives are the husband, two children by a former marriage, Mrs. Minnie Crawford of Washburn, Ill., and Kenneth Piatt, of Lansing, Mich.; one brother, John Chaney, of Sullivan, Ind., two sisters, Mrs. George Lopshire, Allen county, and Mrs. Benjamin Weaver, of Fort Wayne. Five grandchildren and seven step-children are also living.

She was a member of the Methodist church at Roanoke where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. C. Emery Smith will officiate with burial at I.O.O. F. cemetery.

Roanoke, Ind., Dec. 18- Mrs. Jacob Simons(sic), age 65, wife of Jacob J. Simons, died here last week. Mrs. Simons was a lifelong resident of the Roanoke community. She was injured several years ago by the explosion of an acetylene light plant in a church and had never fully recovered. (Dec. 18, 1923; Fort Wayne Sentinel)
