Love was a veteran of the Army and participated in the invasion of France during World War II. He was an electrician for 30 years. Love worked for Western Electric and then Pacific Bell. He worked in Chico, Alaska, Yreka, Redding, San Mateo, Red Bluff and Oroville.
In 1946, he married his wife, Clarice, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Love had lived in Oroville for 23 years. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Robert E. of Palermo, two daughters, Debbe Berns of Reno, Nev., and Cathi Love of Napa; a brother, Bob of Sacramento; and four grandchildren. Burial will follow the service in Chico Cemetery.
