TYLER - Funeral services for Maurine Brookshire, 89, former Plainview resident, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Johnny Anders and Don Kleppe officiating.

Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park by Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brookshire died Sunday, May 16, 1999, in Tyler Nursing Home.

She was born Maurine Lancaster on Sept. 20, 1909, in Cooper, the daughter of the late Mack and Ethel Lancaster. She and her husband, Dean Brookshire, lived in Plainview from 1947 to 1953 and again from 1982 to 1995 while he was minister at Ninth and Columbia Street Church of Christ. She also taught a ladies Bible class. They lived in Carlsbad, N.M., and Van before retiring to Tyler about 20 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of Patton Lane Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Herbert and Wanda Brookshire of Carrollton and Dudley and Jeanie Brookshire of Tyler; a brother, J.D. Lancaster of Mesquite; a sister, Mrs. Paul "Faye" Fleming of Sulphur Springs; two granddaughters, Melissa Frick of Tyler and Stacey Brookshire of Austin; and a great-grandson.

The family suggests memorials to Boles Children´s Home in Quinlan, the Lubbock Children´s Home or to a favorite charity.
