Susan Hartinger

MIDDLEPORT - Mrs. Susan Eileen Allensworth Hartinger, 48, died Thursday morning at Shaw Air Force Base Hospital in South Carolina following a brief illness.

She is survived by her husband, Lt. Gen. James V. Hartinger, commander of the 9th Air Force at Shaw Air Force Base; her mother, Mrs. Clyda Russell Allensworth of Middleport; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Kristin) Kelsall a stewardess for Eastern Airlines, Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, 1st Lt. Fighter Pilot Jimmer Hartinger of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mike, a student at the University of Texas; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Violet Hartinger of Middleport and six aunts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Allensworth.

Services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Middleport Church of Christ, of which she was a member, by the Rev. George Glaze. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Rawlings-Coats Funeral Home Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon and 4 to 9 p.m. and until 12:30 p.m. Sunday when the body will be taken to the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Cancer Society.
