Charles H. Mosshart, 53, merchant and civic and religious leader in Ennis, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Dean Harrison officiating. Mr. Harrison will be assisted by the Rev. C. B. Knight. The Masonic burial services will be conducted at the Myrtle Cemetery where burial will be made.

Mr. Mosshart was born in Temple, September 8, 1885 and received his early business education at the Tyler Commercial College, where he received his diploma in 1906. He came to Ennis in 1923 and established Mosshart's store, which he had operated since that time. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Masonic Lodge, Knights Templar, and a director in the Chamber of Commerce, and member of the Ennis Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Bartlett of Ennis; a son, Charles Henry Mosshart of Fort Worth; and a granddaughter, Nancy Bartlett of Ennis. Mr. Mosshart also is surived by his father, Fred Mosshart of Temple; three brothers, F. W. Mosshart of Dallas, C. S. Mosshart of Houston, O. F. Mosshart of Princeton, Illinois; and three sisters.
