Leonard J. Giggey, 65, of 18 Massassoit Drive, Leicester, died last night in City Hospital. He was born in Fairfield, Maine, son of Mrs. Isabelle (Gilman) Giggey of Fort Fairfield, Maine, and the late Lincoln A. Giggey, and moved to Leicester 10 years ago. He was a welder and mechanic in the maintenace department of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Auburn. Mr. Giggey was a member of the Elks Lodge in Andover, N.B., Canada, the Joel Prouty Lodge of Masons in Auburn, and a former member of the Odd Fellows in Fairfield, Maine. Besides his mother, he leaves his widow, Fern L. (Pelkey) Giggey; a son, Robert L. Giggey, both of Leicester; two daughters, Vivian L., wife of Max Kinney of Richland, Mich., and Mrs. Pauline G. McTague of East Holden, Maine; a brother, Robert Giggey of Fort Fairfield, Maine; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Gregory of Charlton, and Theresa, wife of Halley Morse of Kittery, Maine; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in the Morrison Funeral Home, Leicester. The Rev. Stephen R. Tucker will officiate. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 tonight.
