Mrs. Fern L (Pelkey) Giggey of 18 Massassoit Drive, Leicester, died last night in St. Vincent Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Leonard J. Giggey, who died in 1967. Mrs. Giggey was a cook for Washburn House in Worcester for five years. She leaves a son Robert L. Giggey of Leicester, chairman of selectmen; two daughters, Vivian L., wife of Max Kinney of Paw Paw Mich., and Mrs. Pauline G. McTague of Bangor, Maine; two sisters , Mrs. Beatrice Russell of Presque Isle, Maine and Mabel, wife of Owen Ayers of Naugatuck, and five great-grandchildren. She was born in California Settlement, N.B., Canada, daughter of Thomas E. and Henrietta (Everett) Pelkey. She had lived in Fort Fairfield, Maine before moving to Leicester 20 years ago. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Morrison Funeral Home, 1131 Maine St., Leicester. The Rev. Andrew Kilpatrick will officiate. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
