Joseph Chahy

LORAIN-Joseph Chahy, 72, died this morning in his home, 5115 Elyria Ave., after a long illness. He was born ini Hungary and came to the United States in 1904, residing in South River, N.J., before moving to Lorain in 1912.

Mr. Chahy was a member of the Hungarian United Church of Christ and the Hungarian Federation of America. He was formerly employed as a crane operator at the National Tube Co., retiring in March 1954, after 32 years of service.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara; three sons, Julius and Bert, both of Lorain, and Sidney, Cleveland; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Molnar, Elyria and Miss Lillian at home; six grandchildren and a brother, STeve, and sister, Miss Elizabeth, both living in South Norwalk, Conn.

Friends will be received in the Emil Dovala Funeral home after 6 p.m. tomorrow; Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p,.m. in the funeral home and at 2 p.m. in the Hungarian United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

The pastor will conduct a memorial service in the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m..
