Seven Valleys Feb 8, 1933 Jesse H. Krout, a well known resident of North Codorus Twp., died at his home near here. Death was caused by dropsey, following an illness of a month. He was bed fast this past week. He was aged 73 years and 13 days.
Mr. Krout was a retired farmer. At the time of his death he was serving his fourth year of his term as assessor of the first district of North Codorus Tounship. He was also constable of the township for 9 years and served as tax collector of the township one term, 1890-1891. He was a member of Washington Camp, No. 646, P.O.S. of A., Stoverstown.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Celesta Krout,; 10 children, David, York,; Warren, Philadelphia,; Mrs. George Hahn, Philadelphia,; George, York,; Jessie, a resident of Ohio,; Elmer, New Brunswick, N.J.,; Mrs. M.H. Stoufh, near Seven Valleys,; Conrad D., Seven Valleys,; Elsie Krout, Hanover,; and Mrs. Stewart Shaffer, Glen Rock,; three sisters, Mrs. Lucinda Behler, near here,; Mrs. Cassie Laughman, York,; and Mrs. Jacob Kessler, near here,; 23 grandchildren,; 2 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Sunday with all services at the house. Rev W.H. Ehrhart will officiate. Interment will be made in the Stone Church cemetery. Funeral director C.O. Goodling, this place, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
The pallbearers, four sons and two sons-in-law were, David, Warren, George and David Krout, and Stewart Shaffer and Marlin Stough.
