Actor. He is best known for his performances in "Ball of Fire" (1941), "Cluny Brown" (1946), "Sitting Pretty" (1948), and his best known film "The Sound of Music" (1965), as the friend of the Von Trapps. His last film appearance was in "Young Frankenstein" (1974), playing 'Herr Falkstein.'
