Services for Mrs. Martha Caroline Poe were held in the Methodist Church. She moved to Texas in December 1900, living for a few years on what was the W.C. Baker farm, one mile southwest of Anson, and has lived in or near Anson since that time. She married John Poe in 1883 and there were four daughters born into this union. One daughter died at the age of two. Mrs. Poe joined the Baptist Church at the age of 14 and in 1903 united with the Methodist Church. Survived by Mrs. Tom Sanders, Mrs. Joe Herndon, Mrs. Charlie Ball, Mrs. Willie Hall; one sister - Mrs. Julia Rutherford.
