Violet A. Golphenee passed away January 27, 2011 at Blue Pine Adult Family Home in Vancouver, WA.

Violet was born June 3, 1920 in Lambert, Montana. Violet and her husband Glen A. Golphenee were married in 1938, and in 1941, moved to Yakima, WA.

Violet worked at Yakima Valley School in Selah, WA from 1969 - 1981. She retired in 1981. In 1984, Violet and Glen moved to Vancouver, WA.

Violet enjoyed her family and church and reading the Bible. Violet was a member of the 160th Ave. Church of Christ in Portland, OR for approximately 18 years.

Violet was the daughter of William and Cora (Flom) Schow. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, and her husband Glen.

Violet is survived by her daughter Janet Golphenee-Evans of Vancouver, her son Greg Golphenee and his wife Sharon of Snoqualmie, WA. In addition to her children, Violet is also survived by her two grandsons, Troy Evans and Tracy Evans as well as Tracy's wife Sherry, and two great-granddaughters, Latasha and Savanna Evans. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, and many friends.

We would like to thank all of the caregivers that took care of our mother at Stonebridge Memory Care and Blue Pine Adult Family Home. A special thank you to Florica Nedeleu and Badia Nicola.

Funeral services were on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, WA.
