L. A. Neil, Southern Oregon Pioneer, Is Dead of Indigestion

Ashland. June 26. L. A. Neil, a prominent citizen of Ashland, died at 10 o'clock Tuesday night of acute indigestion. Neil crossed the plains from Tennessee with his father in 1853. With his father and brothers he had developed large farms in this section and he and his family led In the social and civic development of this vicinity. He died at his mountain home, and his son, Jesse, was at his bedside. Two daughters will arrive from the East July 1. Neil is survived by two sons and two daughters Jesse and Elmo of Ashland, Mrs. Edna Torrance of Springfield, Miss., and Mrs. Angie King. Chatham,. N. J. ; three brothers, R. Neil, Ashland ; J. C. Neil, Eugene ; XV. U. Nell. Ruckles ; three sisters, Mrs. J. J. Murphy, Ashland ; Mrs. Mary Dean, Grants Pass, and Mrs. Jennie Alford. Klamath Falls.
