Funeral service for James O. Dees were held 2:30 PM Thursday, February 3, 2011 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel, Rev, George Holland officiated. Burial followed in Fort Jesup Cemetery at Fort Jesup, La. Mr. Dees, 93, of Natchitoches, La., died Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at Overton Brooks Veterans Medical Center in Shreveport, La. He was a native of Fort Jesup, La. He was retired as owner operator of Dees' Fishing Camp, attended Christian Harmony Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and a recipient of a Purple Heart. Precedeed in death by his wife Virgie Dees; parents, Daniel Dees and Josephine Tynes Dees; sister, Ollie Marshall; brother, Curtis Dees He is survived by his one daughter, Letha Warren and husband Danny of Stonewall, La.; two step daughters, Annette Basco and husband Wilkie of Provencal, La. and Monica Aaron and husband Ronnie of Campti, La.; two step sons, T. L. Brown and wife Gretta of Marksville, La. and Ralph Brown and wife Kathey of Castor, La.; 19 step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Maybell Jordan of Shreveport, La. and Audrey Colston of Fort Jesup, La. Pallbearers were Dennis Basco, Jerry Lafayette, T.J. Bradham, Billy Wynn, Jeff Warren, and Kevin Warren.
