Stephen Goins
Stephen Allen "Sleepy" Goins, 49, of Cleveland, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at SkyRidge Medical Center in Cleveland.
A native of McMinn County, and a resident of Cleveland for 20 years, he was a son of the late James William Goins Jr., and was a member of North Athens Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Alice Ratledge Goins of Riceville; one daughter, Cayla Goins of Ocoee; two brothers, Charles Goins of Cleveland, and Sam Goins of Riceville; one sister, Imogene Carr of Nichols, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; and the mother of his daughter, Cayla Goins of Ocoee.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Duane Hamby officiating. Burial will follow in Buttram Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Charles Goins, Sam Goins, Billy Joe Goins, C.J. Goins, James Bussey, James Bussey Jr. and Randy Carr.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
