"Carter" was the son of Capt. Charles Alexander Sprinkel & Sallie Carter.

Carter married twice: (1) Edith Harris on 14 Jul 1897 in Rockingham Co., VA; & (2) Bertie Woods on 2 Oct 1905 at Harrisonburg, Rockingham Co., VA.

Carter & Edith had one son, Percy Carter Sprinkel.

Carter was a dentist. He graduated from the University of Maryland.

Note that Carter's death certificate shows he was born 20 May 1869. That is not correct. His birth was announced when he was born in the "Rockingham Register & Advertiser" as: "Monday Morning, May 20th, 1867."

Carter is interred in the mausoleum at Woodbine Cemetery pictured on this page. His remains are in the left wing, south wall.
