Charles Francis Robinson was born in Worcester, MA in September, 1944, son of Mae Loretta (LaForest) and the late PFC Charles A. Robinson, who had been killed in St Lo, France, in July of 1944. When Charlie was two, his mom met and married Jack Hickey of Worcester, also a WWII veteran, and he thought of Jack as his father his whole life.

Charlie quickly developed a strong interest in sport of all kinds, playing on the baseball and football teams in elementary and junior high school, and Worcester Boys Trade School, where he became an expert cabinet maker and carpenter. Charlie was not a big man ... at his tallest adult height, he barely broke 5'4", which led to his nickname of "Mouse" .. but he was fast and nimble and never took a hit without getting right back up ... and sometimes hitting back, just as hard.

Mouse also loved fishing, especially at sea, and he was a committed rifleman and hunter. Charlie was married twice, and had two daughters by his first marriage and an adopted daughter by his second. Charlie adored his daughters, and he is deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

At age 50, Charlie was hit hard by Cancer, an opponent he couldn't hit back. He fought a good fight.
