parents: John R. Brantley, Dora Howell
------
Word of the death of Mrs. H.S. Cole, Sr, came to Ranger today. Mrs. Cole passed away at the home of her daughter, Miss Dora Mayne Cole, 5438 Miller Avenue in Dallas. Mrs. Cole, while in Ranger, was prominently identified with the Christian Science society and was a musician of rare ability. She drew around her a circle of Ranger's musical talent, even in the days of the boom when affairs did not turn to cultural things as much as they do now. Her husband was sent to Ranger in 1919 by the California Petroleum company to spend a period of time studying the casinghead gas business. Mrs. Cole and her family lived in the Cole Apartments until a few years ago when the family moved to Dallas, and later, she accompanied her husband to Bonham. Services were held in the home of her daughter.
Survived by her husband; one daughter; three sons.
