Mary Jo (Eddy) Barnette, 57, of Davisville, W.Va., died Jan. 29, 2011, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Marietta, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Grace (Smith) Eddy.

She graduated from Frontier High School where she was the valedictorian of her class. She retired after 35 years from the Bureau of Public Debt. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was active in the choir. She was a member of Deerwalk Veterans Association Chapter 1, DAV Chapter 32 Auxiliary and was active in the Relay for Life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Terry L. Barnette; five daughters, Jennifer Lewis of Cleveland, Tenn., JoAnn Roark of Cleveland, Tenn., Judy Gates (Michael) of Greensboro, N.C., Angeline Barnette of Parkersburg and Crystal Barnette of Parkersburg; two sons, Terry L. Barnette II (Susan) of Cleveland, Tenn., and Amaziah P. Barnette of Parkersburg; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben Eddy of Lowell, Ohio, and Clifford Eddy of Friendly, W.Va.; and a sister, Anita Merritt of Prospect, Ohio.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Kurt Busiek and the Rev. David Carpenter officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
