Lana Birchfield Lane, age 64, of Robbinsville, NC passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 at Murphy Medical Center in Murphy, NC. A native of Graham county, she was the daughter of Mary Jo Walsh Birchfield of Robbinsville, NC, and the late Cleve Ernest Birchfield. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brothers Dennis and Randall Birchfield. Surviving in addition to her mother are her daughters, Mary Lane and Mandy Lane, both of Robbinsville, NC; her step son, Scott Lane of Robbinsville, NC; her brother and sister in law, Tim and Amy Birchfield of Robbinsville, NC; her sister and brother in law, Donice and Clark Hooper of Charlotte, NC, and her sister, Brenda Carpenter of Robbinsville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverends Daniel Stewart and Scott Roper will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Chapel, prior to the service. Committal services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
