The Obituary of her son, Party A. Sergent, dated August 1934 reads: "His parents, Daniel and Mary Sergent were born in Pennsylvannia and moved to Martinsville, Illinois in early life. ... (when his mother died) ... leaving his father with six children, three boys and three girls. Of this family, only one sister Mrs. Ida Switzer of Martinsville, remains."
