Dies Late Thursday

KOUTS, Ind.--Ora Walter Jackson, 51, veteran of World War I, and a resident of Kouts for 40 years, died at 4 p.m. Thursday in Porter Memorial hospital. He had been ill for six months with complications.
The decedent was born April 8, 1895, in Crawfordsville, Ind., a son of Hiatt and Laura Jackson.
On Feb. 13, 1923, he was united in marriage to Effie Williams. To this union were born two sons, Ralph and Duane, and two daughters, Betty and Ruby, all at home.
Besides his widow and four children, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Laura Jackson, Kouts; a sister, Mrs. Hazen Cannon, Lafayette, Ind., and two brothers, Henry Jackson, Elkhart, Ind., and Harry Jackson, Chicago. He was a member of the Valparaiso Lodge of Moose.
Plan Military Rites
A military service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Kosanke Brother funeral home, Kouts, the Rev. Donald Johnson, pastor of the First Christian church, Kouts, officiating.
Pallbearers will be World War I members of William Redilyack Post 301, American Legion Post, Kouts, while honorary pallbearers will be World War II members of the same post. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, west of Kouts.
Friends may call at the Kosanke Brothers funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday, and up until time of services.
