Bessie Jasper (Burton) Barrett
Bessie Jasper (Burton) Barrett, 74, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at her son's residence. She was a resident of Franklin and a former resident of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born Sept. 3, 1926, in Russell Springs, Ky. Her parents were Marshall and Lula (Jasper) Burton. Survivors include three sons, Carl Miller of Vevay, Freddie Sharpe of Franklin and Chuck L. Barrett of Batavia, Ohio; two daughters, Marilyn L. King of LaVergne, Tenn., and Brenda G. Rosales of Franklin; a brother, Kenneth Burton of Franklin; three sisters, Clara Rich and Doris Barrett, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Annette Taylor of Harrison, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clemeth Burton; two grandsons, Robbie M. Hatfield and Jeremy W. Hatfield; and a great-grandson, Christopher Cravens.
She was a homemaker. She was employed for three years at Arvin North American Automotive in Franklin and at other factories as a production worker. She was employed by Welcome Nursing Home in Franklin for seven years. She was employed for a total of 45 years, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of Church of God in Covington, Ky.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
