Gunter Lee Hendricks was born on May 18, 1954, in Tahlequah to Herbert and Mary Hendricks. He passed from his life on Monday January 31, 2001, at his home in Tahlequah.
He attended school at Woodall and graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1972. He worked for C.D McGuire, David Bailey, Dell Hall and Barnes and Sons Rodeo Company and also rode bulls. Gunter was a concrete construction worker, he worked for Taylor Construction, Hendricks Construction and Cherokee Nation. He took up the trade of leather tooling. He made belts and chaps for grandchildren, nieces, nephews and anyone who showed interest in one. On June 15, 1990, he married Betty Clark. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends. Gunter was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rebecca Hendricks Potts. He is survived by his wife Betty, daughters Tracey Patrick and husband Ryan of Ft. Gibson, Lisa Proctor and husband Mark of Claremore, Dana Jordan and husband Curtis of Stillwell, grandchildren Blake and Brookelyn Patrick, Cory, Brittney, Sydney and Dakota Proctor, Whitney and fiancé Jeremy Gass, Nickalos and Zachary Jordan and one great grandson Stone Gass. Brothers and sisters Sue Ritchie and husband Ronnie, Shirley McClure and husband Donnie, Rufus Hendricks and wife Nita, Terry Hendricks and Tammy all of Tahlequah. Marilyn Ballard of Park Hill, Betty Stubbs and husband Robert of Muskogee. Margie Stinnett and husband Jay of Hulbert, a special brother-in-law, Joe McKerrow of Claremore along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be at 2:00pm, Friday February 4, 2011, at Green Country Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Park Hill Cemetery.
