Hobart Roscoe Childress, 50, Long Bottom, passed away suddenly Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 in Letart Falls while doing what he loved most, riding his motorcycle.

Born June 14, 1959 in Mason, W.Va. he was the son of Anna L Scarberrry Childress Tucker, of Letart Falls and the late Huston Childress. He was a welder/foreman for the Martin-Marietta corporation in Apple Grove.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his step-father of 48 years, Glenn Tucker, Letart Falls; daughter, Lacey Childress, son, Travis Childress, both of Mason; grandchildren, Isaiah Childress, Dayton and Ithan Childress, Mason; brothers, Rodney L. Childress, Nebraska, Randy Tucker, Racine, Allen (Deanna) Tucker, Letart Falls; nieces and nephews, Mandy Combs and Justin Combs, both of Jackson, Megan Stewart, Racine, Heather Sheridan, San Francisco, Calif., Danyel Maynard, Point Pleasant, W.Va., Miranda Combs and Tyler Combs, both of Pomeroy, Nicholas Combs, Chester and Lynzee Tucker, Letart Falls; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Matthew and Mandy Combs, Pomeroy, Mark and Vickie Combs, Racine, Terry and Beth Combs, Jackson, Sam and Missy Combs, Chester and Rob and Deborah Cleek, Pomeroy; special aunt, Darla Tucker, Racine and special cousins, Nicki Tucker and Woodrow Hall and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Huston Childress, in 1961 and by a brother, Jay Childress, in infancy.
