Mrs. Esther Marie Kemp,71, of 235 Sullivan St. , died at 5:37 a.m. Friday at Bethesda Hospital . She had been ill since Tuesday.
Mrs. Kemp was a former employee of old Shawnee Pottery.
Born July 27,1906, in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Daisy Finch Wickham.
Surviving are her husband, Hershel , whom she married June 27,1923; a daughter , Mrs. Richard (Betty Lucille) Melvin of 3450 Church Hill Road; two sons Harold of-954 Pershing Road and Eugene of 2270 Adamsville Road- Two sisters Mrs. Gertrude (Arthur) King of 813 Durban Road and Mrs. Opal (Orville) Thomas of 969 Greenwood Avenue; two brothers, Raymond of Richmond, Virginia; and William of Cleveland, 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7-9 Sunday at DeLong and Baker Funeral Home.
