Mrs. Herman Kolling Passes from Earth
Martha daughter of Mr and Mrs. Diedrick Meyer, was born at Schaumburg, May 23, 1879, was there confirmed into the Lutheran church by Rev. Miller, after attending the schools of her native place. In 1904 she was married to Herman Kolling of Arlington Heights and has made this place her home ever since.
To Mr. and Mrs. Kolling four children were given, who with their father are left to mourn. She died at eventide, Sunday, Feb. 25, 1923, in her family home on South Arlington road, leaving beside her husband, one son and three daughters, three sisters and one brother to mourn her departure.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, February 28, from the home and from St. Peter's church; her pastor, Rev. C. Noack conducting the service. Burial in St. Peter's cemetery. To the children and Mr. Kolling the sympathy of all who are their friends is sincerely given.
There is one sadder loss than this,
These children now are called to bear;
A mother's tender love to miss
And all their mother's loving care.
Our God has promised he will be
The orphans' guide--the orphans' stay
And as a mother comforteth,
So will He comfort them today.
