Interment 7/14/1828 Taken from Register of Interments, The City of Cleveland, Ohio Department of Parks and Public Property Division of Cemeteries.

Age calculated using age on headstone and is only approximate. Birth and death places were submitted by another person and have not been documented.

NB -- I know that this man's name is an issue for everyone. Let's lay out what we know. In tax records of his time, his first name is spelled Thadeus and Thaddeus pretty equally. There is a transcript copy of the original marriage record on Ancestry (if the original still exists, I haven't seen it yet), and the transcriber made a mistake the first time, spelling it Taddeus, and then tried to correct it by turning the "a" to an "h", leaving us with two "d"s and no vowel. The second time it appears in the record, it's spelled "Thadeus". Since the young man probably couldn't write, he won't have known or cared how it was spelled, so I don't think there's a right or wrong way in this case. Thadeus is an obvious misspelling, since the use of it in Greek mythology and the Bible never allows for double ds (always using two "d"s), but it isn't unique to this one man. In the tax lists, whoever wrote the names down in that year's ledger spelled it one way or the other for every Thaddeus who came to pay his taxes (Thadeus or Thaddeus). As to his middle name . . . if you can show me one time -- in his lifetime -- where that P. was spelled out, I will change the memorial.
BOTTOM LINE -- The name on this memorial has been changed by someone's edit more than any other I own. I gave up 20 years ago trying to argue this point, so the edits have always been accepted. No more. This memorial stands as the name was carved on the headstone, and I've put the "double d" version in as a nickname (that will help searchers).
