Harold served as a First Lieutenant in the 506th Parachute Infantry, 101 Airborne Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Onondaga County, New York prior to the war.

He was "Killed In Action" in the Netherlands during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Services for First Lt. Harold F. Cramer, who was killedi n action in Germany Sept 20, 1944, will be conducted at 2pm tomorrow with burial in Morningside cemetery. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cramer of 127 Clarence Ave, Lt Cramer received several decorations for his participation in the Rome, Arno, Normandie and Rhineland campaigns.

He was awarded the purple heart for wounds suffered in the invasion of Normandy, the bronze star with oak leaf clusters, combat infantry badge, the European-African-Middle Eastern campaign medal with three bronze stars, the American defense medal, the World War 2 victory medal, the distinguished unit citation and the state conspicuous service cross.

Lt. Cramer was a graduate of Onondaga Valley academy, a member of the Boy Scouts in the Valley and a member of Valley Presbyterian church.

He was a member of the 106th infantry, national guard, and served four years as a corporal in radio intelligence at Fort Monmouth. He then was a wireless ground operator in the Royal Canadian air forces in Ottawa, returning to the US army at Fort Benning, Ga for training as a second lieutenant in the parachute infantry.

Besides his parents, Lt. Cramer, who was 25 years old when he was killed is survived by a sister, Mrs. Helen Cramer.
