Dicks Family Line

Alice Jean was born in Ottawa, Ontario. She was the youngest daughter of Thomas Dicks and Mary Ann Kirby. She is also the only child of theirs to be born in Canada.

Alice was named after her older sister, Alice who was born and died in England in 1865.

She moved with her family to Teulon, Manitoba and it was there that she married her first husband, John Bond in 1897. Together they moved to Saskatchewan and raised a family until his death in 1922.

After that, she went on to marry Charles Wilson Colter and moved to Vancouver, BC where she continued to live after Charles' death in 1960
