Lorain - William Allendorf, 63, of 923 Reid Ave., was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Hospital yesterday afternoon of an apparent heart attack.
Born in Germany, he had been a Lorain resident for 43 years. He was owner of the Allendorf Shoe and Shoe Repair Shop at 1016 Broadway for 38 years and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. He was secretary of the Lorain Leidertafel for 29 years.
Survivors include his wife, Regina; two brothers, Walter of Lorain and Adam Euler of Germany; one sister, Elisa Schmidt of Germany.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and from 2 to 4 adn 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Yaekle, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
