Canadian, Hemphill Co., Texas, Nov. 25 - The Honorable Jesse Lee JENNINGS, Representative of the 124th District in the Texas Legislature and attorney of Canadian, died at the Research Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri, at 5:30 o’clock Sunday morning. He went to the hospital a few days ago suffering with a severe pain in his head. Local physicians thought an abscess was formed upon his brain.

Judge JENNINGS was born at Woodbury, Hill County, Texas and was 48 years old. he came to Hemphill County about twenty years ago, and in 1908 was elected County Judge of Hemphill County, and held that position for ten years. Two years ago, he was elected representative of this district. His name was prominently mentioned for the State Senate from this district, but he declined to become a candidate. Judge JENNINGS was a popular and efficient public official.

He is survived by his wife, Sleta Ann Johnson JENNINGS; a son, George JENNINGS; his mother Ella May Yarbrough JENNINGS, and a brother, J. W. JENNINGS, who reside at Whitney. The body will arrive at Canadian on Monday evening and the funeral services will be held at the Canadian Cemetery.

He was prominent in Masonic and Odd Fellow circles, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
