He was born April 16, 1914, in Otter Tail County, the son of Lewis and Martha (Loftus) Albertson. He grew up on the family farm in Tordenskjold Township where he helped his parents and also worked for area farmers. As a young man he relocated to Montana where he worked for local farmers.
In the 1950s, he returned to the Underwood farm and began working at the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center, retiring after 25 years as a Psychiatric Tech.
He loved to fly and owned an airplane. He enjoyed his hobby farm, gardening and tinkering around the farm.
George was a life member of Tordenskjold Lutheran Church, belonged to the Eagles, the Fergus Falls Chapter of Retired State Employees and the Sons of Norway. He was also associated with the Underwood and Battle Lake Senior Citizen programs.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Clarice Mittelstadt.
Preceding him in death were five sisters: Bertha Rieken, Mildred Jorud, Hazel Olson, Lila Mae Amundson and Minnie Swendsrud; and six brothers: Lloyd, Oliver, Alvin, Orris and two as infants.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 am Wednesday at Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church, Underwood
