MRS. ANNA BAHAN
Mrs. Carlton C. Bahan of 211 Branch Street, the former Anna Brown, died at Putnam Memorial Hospital Friday afternoon after a brief illness.
A native of Gourock, Scotland, she was born April 1, 1909, daughter of John and Annie Kenzie Brown. The family lived in Toronto, Canada, for about three years prior to moving to Bennington in 1926.
Mrs. Bahan was a member of the First Baptist Church where she and her husband were married November 28, 1933 by the late Rev. William Towart, former pastor.
She was a member of the Bennington Loyal Order of Moose Auxillary, served as the recorder and was active in the society. Mrs. Bahan was employed at the Thompson Manufacturing Co.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by three sons, John and Robert, both of Bennington, and Kenneth, a member of the Vermont State Police stationed at Burlington; a daughter, Anne of Bennington; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Kelly of Fairbanks, Alaska; five grandchildren, two nephews and a niece.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm tonight and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm when the family will be in attendance at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
The Rev. H. Glenn Payne, pastor of the First Baptist Church will officiate at services at the funeral home Monday at 10:30 am. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Chapel, with burial in the spring in White Chapel Cemetery.
