HOPE COUPLE MARKS 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF WEDDING

Sixty years ago today Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Rominger, prominent and popular residents of Hope, were married in the parsonage of the Hope Moravian church. Today, they are observing the anniversary quietly, the formal celebration having been held yesterday for the accommodation of relatives who could not conveniently be present on Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Rominger have seven children, all of whom were present at the celebration. A chicken dinner was served at noon and the afternoon was spent at receiving friends and in social conversation. Approximately 75 relatives and friends attended the reception.

Following the marriage, which was solemnized by the Reverend Francis Holland, then principal of the Hope Seminary, a school no longer in existence. Mr. and Mrs. Rominger went on a wedding trip to Indianapolis and upon their return a week later went to housekeeping in a log house one mile southeast of Hope, where they lived for five years. They then moved to Hope where they remained for five years when they went to Clarksburg, in Decatur. Mr. Rominger carried mail from that place to Greensburg for 25 years, then moved back to Hope where he operated a livery barn until ten years ago when he retired from active business. Mr. and Mrs. Rominger have lived in their present home for thirty years.
