Henry A. Westermeyer, age 92, of 16530 Highway 42, Cleveland, died Saturday, December 30, 1995, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
He was born July 29, 1903 in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, a son of the late Frederick and Emma Gerbing Westermeyer. He attended the Taylor School in the town of Meeme and later the Sheboygan Business College.
Lorena Schmidt and Henry Westermeyer were united in marriage on June 26, 1937k at St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in the town of Mosel. The couple farmed the Westermeyer homestead all their life, retiring in 1966. Lorena preceded him in death on June 12, 1986.
Survivors include one son, Frederick (Judy) of rural Cleveland one daughter, Helen (David) Schmitz of Howards Grove; five grandchildren, Brian, Ann and Henry C. Westermeyer, Steve (Susan) and Michael (Fiance-Brenda Retlich) Schmitz; one sister, Florence (Alfred) Wesener of Newton; two brothers-in-law, Ervin Schmidt of town Mosel and Henry (Alice) Schmidt of Edwards; three sisters-in-law, Arline Thiel and Rogene Schmidt of Cleveland and Bernice Zimmermann of Howards Grove. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Marie Wagner.
A funeral service for Henry A. Westermeyer will be held Tuesday, January 2, 1996, at 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ, W3401 Orchard Road, Elkhart Lake. The Rev. Lloyd Fried will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established to St. John’s United Church of Christ in the name of Henry A. Westermeyer.
The Zimmer Funeral Home of Howards Grove is directing the funeral arrangements.
