The former Viola Brass was born on September 7, 1901, in the Town of Herman, the daughter of the late Cornelius and Anna (Kuhn) Brass. She attended district school in the Town of Herman.
On June 11, 1924, she married Walter Wegner at St. John’s United Church of Christ, in Schwartzwald. The couple farmed in the Town of Herman most of their lives until moving to Kiel in 1959. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1972.
Mrs. Wegner was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald, was a charter member of the Women’s Guild, was a member of the church choir, and was a former Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the Senior Citizens Social Club at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel.
Survivors are two sons, Edward (Isabel) of Plymouth and Frederick (Jackie) of Kiel; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald. The Rev. Lloyd Fried, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at MEISELWITZ FUNERAL HOME, KIEL, from 4-9 p.m. tonight, and Saturday morning, from 9-11 a.m. and at the church from noon, until the hour of the service.
A memorial has been established in her name.
