Funeral services for Mrs. George H. Roethel, 69, of R. 1 Cleveland, who died Monday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ at Schwartzwald. The Rev. E. L. Hennig will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The former Lilly Zill was born on Sept. 19, 1895, in Town Centerville, a daughter of the late Gustave and Emma Zill. She attended district school and on Feb. 1, 1919, was married to George H. Roethel of the town of Meeme. The couple farmed in town Meeme until 1961, when they retired. Mrs. Roethel was a member of St. John's Church.
Survivors are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Laverne (Marcella) Busse, of R. 1, Newton; one son, Wallace, of R. 1 Cleveland; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Alfred of Cleveland, Hilbert of R. 1 Newton, and Harry of Sheboygan and a sister, Mrs. William Wagner of R. 1, Cleveland. One son preceded her in death.
