Frederick Roethel Of Town Meeme Called To Rest
Kiel.—
Frederick Roethel, age 79, life-long resident of the town of
Meeme, passed away at 12 o'clock on Monday at the Sheboygan Memorial
hospital after submitting to an operation last Thursday.
Mr. Roethel was born on March 10, 1864, on the homestead farm, where
he has resided all his life. On December 12, 1890, he was united in
marriage with Miss Ann Schreiber, also of Town Meeme. After their
marriage the couple lived on the Roethel homestead farm.
The deceased is survived by his wife and nine children, they are:
Mrs. Louis (Ella) Fintelmann, of Town Herman, Mrs. Arnold (Annie)
Pfefferkorn of Manitowoc, Mrs. Gilbert (Lydia) Henschel of Kiel, Mrs.
Harold (Irmgard) Reineck of Town Herman, Miss Emma Roethel, a member
of the Mead Public library staff, Sheboygan, Arthur of Town Herman,
Rone of New Holstein, Herbert of Milwaukee and Harry at home. Fifteen
grandchildren also survive. One child preceded Mr. Roethel in death.
Funeral services will be held at the farm home on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
and at 2 o'clock at the St. John's Evangelical church in Schwartzwald.
The Rev. William Schultz of the Schwartzwald church will officiate and
burial will be made in the adjoining church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral home in Kiel tonight and
Wednesday night. On Thursday morning the body will be removed to the
farm home where services will be held in the afternoon.
