Mrs. Anna Roethel, 79, died Tuesday night at the farm home in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, following a stroke which she suffered six weeks ago. Funeral services will be conducted at the St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church at Schwartzwald, the Rev. William Schulz officiating and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Born Oct. 18, 1872, in the town of Meeme, Anne Schreiber was married to Fred Roethel in 1890 and the couple resided on a farm in Meeme. Her husband died in 1943.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Louis Fintelman of Franklin, Sheboygan County, Mrs. Arnold Pfefferkorn of Manitowoc, Mrs. Gilbert Henschel of Kiel and Mrs. Harold Reineck and Miss Emma Roethel at home; four sons, Harry at home, Arthur of the Town of Herman, Sheboygan County, Rone of New Holstein and Herbert of Milwaukee; three sisters, Mrs. August Scheib of Plymouth, Miss Emma Schreiber of Ada and Mrs. Louisa Gesch of Franklin; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
